Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership and Grey Roots Museum and Archives invite you to visit the new traveling exhibit in the Grey Room at the Grey County Administration Building.
Refuge Canada Tent is a small, bilingual exhibit created by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 to travel to libraries and community centres across Canada. The exhibit was designed to resemble a tent and is the same size as a typical shelter used in refugee camps today.
Refuge Canada Tent raises awareness of the complex issues surrounding the history of refugees in Canada. Drawing upon oral histories, archival images and interactives, this immersive exhibit serves as an introduction to the context for Canada’s place in the global refugee crisis and brings to light the challenges faced by refugees in Canada.
Visit Grey Roots to learn more about the diverse stories of migration to Grey County and visit greybrucelip.ca to learn how Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership is supporting various community stakeholders and making Grey -Bruce more welcoming and inclusive.
